Mission Statement:
"To create a caring environment where irreligious people become fully devoted followers of Christ"
Fairview Community Church was started on December 31, 1995, by Pastor Mike Mangrum, along with his family and two other families meeting in a local home. In 1996, we moved to the Fairview Lion's Club. As the church continued to grow that year, we moved to Fairview High School, and then in January of 2001, to the Westwood Elementary School
In March of 2005, we purchased our current home here on Cumberland Drive.
We have chosen not to be affiliated with any denominational group, nor are we supported by any other church or organization. We take this position, not because of division or disagreement, but are led to do so by God to fulfill His purpose for our church.
Our worship style is contemporary. Through instruments and song, we offer up praises to God for His wonderful love and blessings. Our music is lively, and meant to be sung with joy in our hearts and smiles on our faces. You are encouraged to participate by singing, clapping, or lifting up your hands if you so choose, as we praise our Awesome and Mighty God.
We want to provide a comfortable, caring atmosphere where we can all worship together, and experience the joy of knowing our Lord. So you don't have to "dress up" or "dress down" for that matter. Just come as you are.
We don't want you to feel pressured to "do" anything. You can come to observe or participate. We will worship, study the Word, and fellowship together, and you are invited to join in, but you won't be put on the spot.
The leadership of Fairview Community Church rests with the men who serve as Elders. These men are responsible for the spiritual and material oversight of the church. As shepherds, they oversee the spiritual health of the church, and they administer to the church's business matters.
We have numerous ministries here at FCC. We do believe it is our calling to impact not only the lives of those who attend FCC, but those in our community as well. Therefore, many of our ministries don't take place within the walls of our church.
We want to allow God to accomplish everything that He desires though our church. It is our belief that if we continue to seek Him, follow Him and serve Him, we will be able to do just that.
God has given us a passion for people, and that passion has worked itself out in many wonderful ways. We are active in the local schools, we are serving those in need in our community through clothing and food giveaways. We are reaching our through our Harvest Festival, 4th of July picnic and other such events that are open to everyone in our city.
Our vision is for building relationships, both within the walls of the church and without. We hope that you will allow us to build a relationship with you.
WE BELIEVE the Bible is the Word of God, inerrant and inspired in its original autographs. A complete and final revelation of God. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:19-21; Revelation 22:18-19)
WE BELIEVE in one God, personal and knowable, Who eternally exists in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19; Deuteronomy 6:4; John 6:27; 1 John 5:7,20; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
WE BELIEVE that Jesus Christ is God manifest in the flesh, born of a virgin, without sin, the chosen Messiah Who will one day set up His kingdom on earth. (Isaiah 7:14; John 1:14; John 20:30-31; 1 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 4:15; Revelation 11:15; Revelation 19:1-16; Revelation 20:1-6)
WE BELIEVEThat God the Holy Spirit is sovereign in the bestowing of all His gifts for the perfecting of the saints today and that speaking in tongues and the working of sign miracles in the beginning days of the church were for the purpose of pointing to and authenticating the apostles as revealers of divine truth, and were never intended to be characteristic of the lives of believers today. (1 Corinthians 12:4-11; 13:8-10; 2 Corinthians 12:12; Ephesians 4:7-12; Hebrews 2:1-4)
WE BELIEVE Christ died on the cross for our sins, was buried, rose again from the dead, ascended into heaven, and will one day return to earth again. (1 John 2:2; 1 John 4:10; 1 Corinthians 15:1-28; 1 Corinthians 15:50-58; Acts 1:9-11; John 14:1-3)
WE BELIEVE that all persons are sinners, guilty before God, deserving of judgment, and in need of a savior, Jesus Christ our Lord. (Romans 3:19-26; Romans 5:12-21; Romans 6:23; 1 John 4:14-15)
WE BELIEVE that salvation from sin, death, and hell is by God's grace, based on the work of Jesus Christ alone, and is received by faith apart from any human performance or merit (John 14:6; Acts 16:31; Ephesians 2:8-9; Romans 3:28)
WE BELIEVE that all believers in Jesus Christ are baptized, sealed and indwelt by the Holy Spirit, and that He fills those believers who obey God and separate from sinful habits and lifestyles. (Acts 2:38; Titus 3:5-6; 1 Corinthians 6:19-20; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 1:13-14)
WE BELIEVE that eternal life is a gift from God and nothing can separate the believer from the love of God. (1 John 5:11-13; John 10:28-29; Romans 8:38-39)
WE BELIEVE in eternal punishment of the unbeliever, and the eternal life of the believer. (Matthew 25:46; 1 Thessalonians 1:8-10; Revelation 20:1-15)
WE BELIEVE that all believers should assemble in local churches for mutual edification, encouragement, evangelism, service, and worship (Hebrews 1:24-25; Acts 2:41-47; Matthew 18:20)
WE BELIEVE that two ordinances have been given to the church, that of baptism by immersion and the observance of the Lord's Supper. (Acts 2:38; 8:36-38; 10:47; Luke 22:19-20; 1 Corinthians 11:23-26)
